OBJECTIVE # 3   SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE. (TIEMPO FUTURO SIMPLE)

                                   "WILL"  "BE GOING TO"    

   El  futuro simple es un tiempo verbal que utilizamos generalmente para expresar acciones o hechos que sucederán en un tiempo posterior al momento presente.

WILL---> auxiliar    Will not=Won´t  (negative form)

BE GOING TO ----> BE(AM, IS, ARE)---> auxiliar.

Las formas WILL y BE GOING TO se utilizan para expresar el futuro. La diferencia entre ambos es el sentido de planificación y probabilidad de que suceda una acción. En general, se usa BE GOING TO para planes concretos, cuando estamos seguros de que algo va a suceder. Por ej: He is going to visit his brother tomorrow. (El va a visitar a su hermano mañana). Next month I´m going to buy a new car. (El próximo mes voy a comprar un carro nuevo); por el contrario "will" se emplea para hablar del futuro. Generalmente se utiliza para hablar de decisiones espontáneas o de hechos que podrían suceder en el futuro. Se usa también para hacer promesas u ofrecimientos. Por ej: I will always love you (Siempre te amaré). También se emplea para hablar sobre voluntades o deseos y para hacer predicciones; por ej: I will meet you at 6 pm. (Me encontraré contigo a las 6pm); I think it will rain this afternoon. (Pienso que lloverá esta tarde). We will talk about it later. (Hablaremos de eso más tarde).

Yes, they are.

Yes, they are going to be my teachers next year.

No, they aren´t.

No, they aren´t going to be my teachers next year.

WH--- QUESTIONS.

* What are you going to do this weekend?

I´m going to study this weekend.

* Where are you going to study?

I´m going to study at home.

* When are they going to have the English test?

They are going to have the English test next Monday.

* Who is going to be your English teacher next year?

Mrs. Malavé is going to be my English teacher next year.

PART IV.- Translate into Spanish the following paragraph.

Our plans for vacation

    Tomorrow will be our last day of school. We have many plans for vacation. My classmates and I are going to take part in different community activities. John, Melissa and I are going to paint our classroom. Diana and Román are going to be volunteers at the local library. They´re going to participate in organizing and cleaning the computers
